Inviting in the Sacred
Creating Altars
Now that you've explored the various tools, let's bring it all together. I enjoy creating Sacred Space throughout my home...each room has some sort of small Altar with treasures from Nature, be it shells, stones, feathers, or flowers, set on a shelf or table or even a window sill. Each is created with the intention of inspiring and uplifting the energies in that space, creating harmony and connecting me to the Elements. Infusing my home with my essence...Sacred Organic (my Style Statement).
Let me share a little about flowers...you already know they can be very colorful and fragrant, which of course it's one of the reasons they bring us joy, they can brighten up any room and put a smile on anyone's face. But did you know they too possess a very high vibration? Because of this they radiate it out and raise the vibration in a room and bring much joyful and harmonious energy into any space. I treat my home and sacred space with fresh flowers often, whether it's a single bloom that caught my eye in my garden or a bouquet of roses or other fresh-cut flowers. Practice bringing flowers indoors, inviting joy happiness, and aliveness into your Sacred Spaces.
Other things I add are candles, statues, pictures, and affirmations I create or find. If you want to create Sacred Space throughout your home, consider each room and see how you can infuse it with your own essence, a special piece of art, candles, photographs, decorations, a beautiful cloth, or Sacred objects.

Creating an Altar...
Although Altars in the home are not common in Western countries, it does provide us with a central place within our Sacred Space to sit in silence and connect. There is no right or wrong way to create one. I created my first Altar from a box with fabric draped over it, it had a little water fountain and a glass jar candle on it. I used it when I started practicing Meditation and Yoga. Although I still use my sacred space for those purposes, I've also started journaling there, as well as doing other Sacred work. And of course, as you can see, it too has shifted into a much larger table with statues and other treasures on it.
Your Altar should reflect you, infused with your essence. It's more than just a thing to look at or a beautiful setting within your home, it's a visual reminder, graced with objects that are Sacred to you. When I see my little Altars throughout my home, they are simple reminders for me to center, a reminder that I am always supported and loved, that I'm always connected to Divine flow.
Your Sacred Space Altar is a place where you go to sit in silence, go within and connect, allowing you to tune in and listen to your inner guidance. The simple act of prayer, meditation, chanting or any Sacred work you do at your Altar, raises its vibration as well. So don't forget to clear, cleanse (physically and energetically) often and set your intention clearly.

On my Altar, I have a statue of my patron Goddess, as well as totems and other natural things that represent the Elements. What speaks to me is the soft light of candles and tiny strings of, what I call Faerie lights. Incense and Essential oils which I place on each of my Charka centers. As well as feathers, treasures from the Sea and of course crystals.
My Sacred Space is where I find silence and solitude away from the noise and sometimes chaos in my home. A space to do my Yoga, Meditate, Journal, Card Readings, etc. It's my quiet space, my own physical Sacred Space for Sacred work within my home.
This is one of my many Altars around my home...this one is on my desk. It's where I pull my daily affirmation and my daily principle cards. It's simple, I have my Essential Oils, a homemade tea candle holder, stones and feathers with my Word of the Year for the past 3 and my favorite piece of Selenite.
